This spectacular sanctuary celebrates healing and rejuvenation in a tranquil setting within the luxurious 18-acre property of The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa.

The vision is to provide the ultimate guest experience throughout the spa. The challenge was to find a large, light colored ceramic or porcelain tile with the subtle look of wood for the manicure & pedicure area. Several tests were conducted in order to find the tile and grout that best stood up to water overflow and allowed the easiest clean-up of spilled nail polish. The winning combination integrated beautifully into the spa's serene garden environment.

Student Achievement

This concept study focuses on the development of an existing retail space with special attention to LEED requirements. Illuminating the space with creative light placements and choosing materials that mimic natural elements, such as Centiva's Contour Series vinyl planks, help to relate the interior to the outdoors. By imitating objects from the golf course like clouds and golf clubs, commonly used interior objects become artistic elements, adding novelty to the space.
